Tribute edition for founder of the Black Child Journal, Useni Eugene Perkins, poet, playwright, author, social worker. Baba Perkins, Chicago born transitioned May, 2023. He founded the Black Child Journal in 1975 as a journal dedicated to focusing on the issues and practices related to development of the Black Child. His life long mantra was “and how are the children?” Baba Perkins authored and published numerous book on Black child, youth, family and community life and development.
