Lillian Wang, pianist, emeritus profession at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing China, a distinguished member of the Chinese National Musicians Association, listed in the Who’s Who for Chinese Musicians. Ms. Wang settled in Los Angles in 1987. Besides teaching piano privately, she has served as an adjudicator for various piano competitions including SYMF, A Concert in May and San Diego Chinese Piano Pieces Competition. In 1999, Ms. Wang first published the Piano Technical Practices Level Preparatory through Level 9, which help students prepare for the MTAC Certificate of Merit™ evaluations.
In 2006, Ms. Wang published her first CD of Chinese Piano Pieces. In 2014, as a winner in the Bellflower Adult Concerto Piano Competition, Ms. Wang performed with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra and received the commendation award by the County of Los Angeles for dedicated service to the affairs of the community and for the civic pride demonstrated by numerous contributions for the benefit of all the citizens of Los Angeles County.
Dr. FangFang Shi Inouye, received her DMA from USC Thornton School of Music majoring in piano performance. Dr. Shi has performed nationally and internationally; her live performance has been broadcast on KUSC radio station. In the recent years, as the first place winner in the USC Thornton School of Music Concerto Competition, Dr. Shi collaborated as a soloist with the USC Thornton Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Maestro Carl St. Clair (music director of Pacific Symphony). In 2014 as a winner in the Bellflower Adult Concerto Piano Competition, Dr. Shi performed with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra and received the commendation award by the County of Los Angeles for dedicated service to the affairs of the community and for the civic pride demonstrated by numerous contributions for the benefit of all the citizens of Los Angeles County. In 2015, Dr. Shi made her Debut at the Carnegie Hall Weill’s Hall as the first place winner in the American Protégé International Competition for Piano and Strings. With her excellent academic achievement, Dr. Shi has been invited to the membership of the PI KAPPA LAMBDA National Music Honor Society. As an advocate music educator, her paper “Realizing Goals in Memorization” was published by the International Society of Music Education (ISME).
Dr. Shi has been an active MTAC member since 1992, and served as President and First Vice-President at the Lakewood-Cerritos Branch. Dr. Shi has been invited as adjudicators for the SYMF, MTAC various scholarship competitions, MTNA, Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Concerto Competition at Biola University. Currently, Dr. Shi is an adjunct faculty member at Cerritos College, Irvine Valley College and Long Beach City College in the Los Angeles Area.
