A brief history of Mary Elizabeth Lange and the Oblate Sisters of Providence. The book is not a complete history but rather a history based on the administrations of the superior generals of the Oblate Sisters of Providence. The goal is to have the reader become more acquainted with the Oblates through its leaders. As one humble superior general wrote, “These are all God’s work. We are only His instruments.” Those dedicated women who worked as His “instruments” created a remarkable history filled with love, determination, courage, and most of all faith. This is a small part of their story.
