Author Mari Shaw introduces readers to the Artblog Art Writing Challenge and her reaction to the winning essays in the annual contest. The Art Writing Challenge is held every year since 2015 in Philadelphia and focuses on uncovering new writing voices, and new experimental writing about art, music and culture. The book compiles the winning essays from the first four years of the contest, and also includes a history of the Challenge written by the co-founders, Roberta Fallon and Matt Kalasky. Photos of many of the winning essay writers appear in the book.
