In the early months of a new decade, a strange and unknown virus was discovered in China and quickly spread throughout the world. A modern global pandemic reared its ugliness on our doorsteps. And in that time — cities, communities, businesses and schools came to a screeching halt as we retreated into self-isolation. Streets emptied of life and laughter and a strange and haunting silence settled in our cities. With Silent City, I’ve tried to capture that profound emptiness in photographs. In the absence of life, the photos tell a story. Of a time when our lives had changed — perhaps forever.
