ABOUT THE BOOK

Archive Project is a documentary series exploring the studios of independent designers connected to Detroit. The multimedia project offers a deeper look into the processes and perspectives that shape the objects created by each designer and what value we can find in handcrafted, collectible design. 'Objects of re:Socialization, is the first volume of Archive Project and it takes you into the studios of Cody Norman, Paula Schubatis and Alanis McNier. With each designer we discover different curiosities, motivations and ways of making. Yet, despite these differences we find common social utility in their objects - each designer - in their own way - helping us think beyond our assumptions and expectations, towards a more sustainable and enriching future.
