ABOUT THE BOOK

The Powers Manual (Second Edition) is an updated essential guide for understanding Benzodiazepine withdrawal and recovery. Written by David Powers, Ph.D., a Doctor of Psychology who had his own profound acute withdrawal experience, the Manual is an all-encompassing guide to safely withdrawing and recovering from psych med dependence. The Manual covers many topics, including psychoeducation, safe taper protocols, symptom management, diet, nutrition, precautions, neuroplasticity building, brain rewiring, and limbic system retraining. A benzodiazepine recovery coach with a decade of experience, Powers has a refreshing, rational approach to psych medication withdrawal and recovery. His program focuses on helping people in recovery learn how to regain control, restore hope, reduce fear, and foster the best practices to facilitate recovery. Powers' recovery program is essentially a neuroplasticity-building manual that teaches a person how to create healthier pathways and heal from acute withdrawal-induced trauma. The Powers Manual (Second Edition) includes a massive update and revision of the original content, which doubles the word count of the original publication.
