ABOUT THE BOOK

Kentucky, 1952, on an unusually muggy September morning, (I Googled it because now we can) I came screaming into the world before my older brother had even turned one. Elvis Presley sings a song where he boasts he was born "standing up and talking back”, and every time I hear it, I'm convinced the lyricist had me in mind. I was the second of what would be five children born to Marian and Ralph Kramer, who would all plot their course from that small town on the Ohio River. I unexpectedly began my journey when opening a box of 64 shiny Crayolas with a very cool built-in sharpener. Awesomeness! This book is a collection of prosaic yet cherished artworks by Rhonda Ann Kramer, (aka Rhonda Kanet Chambless) between 1959 and 1983.
