Pitanga: Trouble for a Tiny Frog follows the journey of a young girl and a tiny frog as they navigate the impacts of deforestation. This book is a collaborative effort involving the Dr. Gui Becker Lab (Dr. Gui Becker, Wesley Neely, Shannon Buttimer, Jack Boyett, Vanessa Marshall, and Daniel Medina), along with Kendra Abbott and Dr. Sandy Thomas. The story is inspired by the research conducted by the Gui Becker Lab in Brazil.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sarah Scarcliff Lauren Agnello

Sarah Scarcliff is a student at The University of Alabama studying English and Spanish. She is editor of the undergraduate literary arts magazine Marr’s Field Journal. Lauren Agnello recently graduated from the University of Alabama, where she studied Studio Art, Italian, and Art History. She plans to continue illustration while pursuing a master’s degree in Italian.
