El Libro Real de la Música Tradicional Venezolana are two 500 page books of musical charts of Venezuelan folk music songs. The charts are in lead sheet format, with melody and lyrics, and chord symbols for the harmony. Much of this music was not written and was in danger of being lost as the composers passed on, and Mark Brown spent over 20 years traveling across Venezuela meeting, recording and checking his transcriptions with the master composers of this music.
