Jestina Hodge-Pais is a native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. "Ashley Wants a Pet" and "A Chance to Love" are her two first books. Part of the reason she has written "A Chance to Love "is the experience she had while growing up and also later in life. She believes in children being heard, understood and loved, and wants to use books to support people to do that. In the book, Jestina addresses parental alienation and neglect, and hopes it will be a valuable tool to aid parents, teachers, and family advocacy personnel in explaining such confusing experiences to young children.
Jestina is an avid pet lover and trained as a vet assistant. She believes that if people know and understand the love of a pet - they will treat them as family. "Ashley Wants a Pet" is a guide to responsible pet care. Pets are precious and need love and care like any family member.
Jestina strives to promote civility and inclusion, advocates for women and underrepresented groups, and promotes respect and care for all life forms. Her work has taken her to many continents and writing has added to her joy. She hopes this joy will be contagious and spread far and wide.
Jestina is married with a blended/adopted/added family of eight humans and two dogs.
