Quentin Wood grew up in the 70s counter culture which emphasized adventure and community over money and career. This alternative lifestyle shaped his life. At the age of 15 he started hitchhiking across America. By age 17, he became interested in meditation and decided to study philosophy at Maharishi International University. His Entrepreneurial endeavors competed with his studies and he was operating 5 different businesses, by the time he would have graduated. Fortunately, he became friends with chairman of the philosophy department and studied one on one as an apprentice under Dr. Tom Hickey. That spirit of adventure continued to influence his various enterprises and he began a career that would pay for his world travel as an importer of exotic antiques from many different countries spanning four continents. Today, he is creatively retired doing documentary films and writing this guide from real life experiences.
