ABOUT THE BOOK

Dive into the whimsical underwater world of Unschooled Fish, a playful late elementary piano solo by Tom Gerou. Quirky melodic patterns, unexpected chromatic twists, and lively rhythmic figures capture the amusing antics of fish swimming independently of the school. Clever exchanges between the hands, contrasting legato and staccato articulations, and colorful harmonic surprises create an engaging musical adventure. Along the way, students develop confidence with five-finger patterns, hand-over-hand motion, syncopation, and expressive dynamics. With its imaginative character and delightful sense of humor, Unschooled Fish is an entertaining choice for recitals, festivals, and everyday musical exploration.
